Litterature, Parenting, Thoughts on parenting

I published my first book!

Et si on dormait? Is the title of the bedtime story that I wrote to help ease the process of letting go in young children and to give the parents some needed words to support their child in falling asleep. At a certain age, falling asleep requires a decision and some confidence and readiness. It is a challenge for a little child to let go of their awareness and consciousness and to “fall” in an unknown world where they still can’t differentiate what is real from what is imaginary.

I’ve been writing short stories and poems since I was in elementary school. As a child, I was asked by a family member about what I wanted to do when I grew up and my answer was ” I want to write books that would still be there when I’m gone”. Looking back at this answer as an adult, I wonder what inner force drove me so early to think this way and to know what my heart loved and what my mind needed.

I wrote this book as I was struggling to help my first born to settle. For months this led me to a burnout due to constant sleep deprivation. As a child development specialist, I knew different techniques and approaches and nothing seemed to work. And as a parent, we tend to link these behaviors to us, to what we should be doing or not be doing but in reality, sleep is a complex process and it develops differently from one individual to another, depending on their personality and how their brain is wired and how their nervous system regulates.

I wrote and designed this book and registered it and worked closely with a printing house to make it see the light. I taught myself so many new skills to get here today and I can’t be more excited to finally share it with you.

Give it some attention and some support and please reach out to share your thoughts!
